LAWRENCE ANDERSON LONG

CHARLOTTE - Lawrence Anderson Long "Larry", 54, of Charlotte, fought a courageous battle against cancer for over eight years. On December 22, 2010, God decided He wanted Larry to be at peace and come home to Him. He will be missed on this earth by many, but is now healed and in God's glory. We celebrate having the opportunity to have known and loved him. 

Larry left behind to cherish sweet memories his best friend and wife, Robynn Byers Long and their children, who will forever hold him in their hearts, Hannah Lawrence Long and Samuel Anderson Long. He loved them so and could not have been more proud of them. 

Larry was predeceased by his father, Charles Long. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Long, brothers, Chuck Long, Brent Long, and sister Shirley Long Rudisill and their families. Larry is also survived by his mother-in-law Peggy Byers. 

Larry was a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School class of 1975 and UNC Charlotte 1979. Larry's career was spent with J. R. Cole Industries. He was dedicated to and loved his chosen profession. He was honored to work beside so many that he called friends. The love and support shown to our family throughout our journey will never be forgotten. To our Elphin Court family, our J.R. Cole family, and our Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church family, thank you. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. 

Please join us for a celebration of Larry's life at 2 pm on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church, 2929 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte NC 28209. Visitation will be held following the service.
