RAMONA ANNE MARSHALL GRAVES

CHARLOTTE - Ramona Anne Marshall, age 51, passed away at the home she shared with her father, Allan Duane Marshall, Sunday, June 15, 2008. Ramona was born November 6, 1956 in Metarie, Louisiana, daughter of Allan Duane Marshall and the late Vivian Ruth Paugh Marshall.  

In addition to her father, Ramona is survived by her sister Phyllis Louise Herrin and brother-in-law, Ronald Herrin, and her sister Constance Ruth Thompson. She is also survived by her nephew, Wesley Herrin, and her nieces, Shana Los-Herrin, Kimberly Thompson, and Kara Thompson. She is also survived by her great nephews Dustin Davis and Jason Tarlton and her great nieces, Madeline Los, Sophia Los, and Sarah Jane Davis. Her mother, Vivian Ruth Paugh Marshall and her brother, Lynn Keith Marshall both predeceased her.

After living in Metarie for about three years Ramona moved to Center Point, Alabama for ten years before the move to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1969. Ramona attended Quail Hollow Junior High and South Mecklenburg High School and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Biology. She was recently studying at Central Piedmont Community College for a career in the medical field and was due to complete the requirements for her degree the spring of 2009. 

Ramona enjoyed riding motorcycles and had owned several Harley Davidson bikes over the years. She also loved horseback riding and animals of all kinds, especially her cat Boot. Ramona had recently made great strides in overcoming serious personal difficulties and her family was very proud of her efforts to turn her life around. She was her father's "right arm" and she cared for him with unwavering devotion and love. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Sheila Bishop officiating.
