DAVID RUTHERFORD HIGGINS

CHARLOTTE - Mr. David Rutherford Higgins, 34, of 2534 Stradbrook Dr., drowned June 15, 1991, during the Latta Plantation Triathlon. He was born October 30, 1956 in Charlotte, son of John Jr. and Eleanor McFadden Higgins.

In addition to his parents, David is survived his brothers, John Higgins III of Montgomery, AL, Williams Higgins of Charlotte; grandfather, John Higgins Sr. of Rock Hill SC.

David graduated from South Mecklenburg High School class of 1975. David swam competitively as a teenager, until he left for Appalachian State University, where he earned a degree in business.

The funeral is at 2PM today at Carmel Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
